Yesterday was March 1 and my #running streak celebrated its’ 4th birthday! 🎉
5K a day. Most days, a slow jog running in place. A few marathons and halves thrown in there for good measure.
@[email protected] First 7 miles are a great loop of Golden Gate Park, then the last 6 is an out-and-back along Great Highway which is basically psychological warfare.
But an early February half is SUCH a good forcing function to not be a couch slug through the rainy season.
I can never move out of #sanfrancisco because my ability to estimate #running distances on the fly here is unparalleled.
12 miles today in 2:29. Half next week!
@varx Costco sells a big tub of mixed “gourmet dried mushrooms” that’d work, too.
Usually those mixes are cheaper because they’re little pieces and a lot of people prefer the pretty whole dried mushrooms - but the little cheaper pieces are more suited to your use case!
This is great for a hint of that mushroom umami.
If you want more intense, your idea about grinding dried mushrooms will work though dried shiitake are extremely tough. Dried porcini or maitake will grind more easily.
Cannot recommend highly enough investing in very comfortable socks (or slippers, is that’s your thing) for all activities.
I have gradually replaced all my just-okay socks with Balega “hidden comfort” running socks and it is a tiny daily delight.
