Bronze & enamel lecturn by Gilbert Bayes in the Savoy Chapel, memorial to Laurence (son of Henry) Irving who drowned with 1000 others when the Empress of Ireland sank off Canada in 1914. Its captain Henry Kendall, on his prior ship, sent the radio message that led to Dr Crippen's arrest.

I was on a cycling trip in Cornwall over the weekend when I came across this lovely building.
It was created by the Society of Friends, in 1710, as a Quaker Meeting House, and is still in use.
The best part of the story is that, following construction, the tiny hamlet clustered around the Meeting House became known as Come-to-Good. Isn't that a lovely name?
