Back from about 7h bike and hike. Got up before 6am - totally worth it but with a couple of challenging sections.
It was quite a walk along this ridge. Sometimes pathless, sometimes directly at the cliff. But always with some gentle wind.
Just got a blister at my right heel. Luckily it only got worse shortly before reaching the bike. Time to resupply our medikit with anti-blister patches.

I only met a couple of people who own the huts and care for the cattle up there. I had some nice chats with them and asked which springs would be drinkable and how much cattle they have up there.
I just wasn't overly amused once when I saw a couple of mountainbikers riding a trail which isn't allowed for biking.
I can totally understand that some of those trails must be AMAZING to bike, but it's still a nature protection zone with a couple of rules 😕
Please, Nature isn't our amusement park.
@hikingdude Stunning!
My only question would be, "Why did you come back?" 🤣 Okay, I'm half serious. This is breathtaking, Franz. Thank you!
@CA_Hawthorne
Haha, thank you Christina!
When I was up there I *SO* much enjoyed being there.
Maybe it wasn't my last visit there 😉
I was so grateful to have this reachable to me, to be Self-assured enough to do this alone, to be fit enough to be able to do IT, to value it.
I know that I can't take it for granted.
@hikingdude Beautifully said, and in a way that reminds me of every similar experience I've ever had.
I would certainly return.
Hiking the exposed ridges speaks to me, the satisfaction in still moving forward, the joy of having spectacular views to either side, and enjoying the air movement that has the added benefit of carrying away the tiny, biting creatures. 😃
@ericphelps
Thank you Eric! 🙏
Actually, such feedback really made me aware of what I'm having here.
I grew up here, it was "normal" to me. - Now I want to share it with people who can't see this themselves.
@hikingdude what a wonderful hiking area! I know I would love it there.
I use compeed if I get blisters but applying sports tape in advance when I get a heat spot on my heel seems to solve the problem in advance
@elperronegro
Oh for sure you'd love it!! I have no doupt! 😀
We also had one compeed in our medikit... ONE! 🤦 unfortunately I have two feet and I got blisters on both. Luckily only one demanded further action.
@codestupser @wandermonty
😳 12?! Ja Merci. 😱
So eine Dusche nach einer Wanderung ist schon irgendwie das abschließende Highlight für mich.
