@Shanmonster Yes I agree going for a walk can help in many ways as it allows the brain to “reset” and between the physical movement and change in visual and sensorial stimulus your brain can find a solution or reach creative clarity. What I find also helps is hand writing out a scene, even in shorthand. For me the process of moving away from the computer and writing by hand can also stimulate creative thoughts and handwriting connects me to the page. Nice topic!
@bookishbrews Non fiction conveys information through data. Fiction conveys information through imagination. There is also so many universal truths in story telling. It’s okay if you have a bias, or if you relate better to data than metaphors. I also don’t like to talk in absolutes. There are some topics that non-fiction does a better job but when it comes to human interrelations, fiction, I believe has an advantage. But then again I’m a fiction writer so I obviously have a bias😉
@cordeliane Thank you for suggesting Ware and Iles. I will look them up! Have a wonderful day.

That’s a really good point. If your market is readers under 25, a setting in the 1950s or 1960s is historical to them. Although I do like that term “Vintage Fiction” which is like a 0-50 year difference between today and the story setting. Great topic!
@golgaloth @amyanshawnye that’s a great term. Nicely played!
@cordeliane thank you. My website is www.chriskjones.com. Would you mind sharing who are some of your favorite writers. I’m a Grisham and Baldacci fan. I also like Ken Follett.
@ollie_francis Thank you!
