@Teri_Kanefield I also think there was no widespread election fraud, but also understand that this world not be the proper forum to decide that in this case. There's are ex parte proceedings. No matter what witnesses are saying, there's no attorney there to argue the other side.
For all the talk of the Twitter files supposedly (but not actually) revealing that Twitter was actively colluding with Democrats to censor conservatives (note: this did not actually happen), it's interesting to see that none of the Twitter Files discuss the now revealed point that Republicans regularly demanded Twitter remove tweets: https://www.techdirt.com/2023/02/09/somehow-missing-from-the-official-twitter-files-twitter-had-to-continually-respond-to-trumps-gop-officials-demands-for-taking-down-tweets/
Somehow Missing From The Official ‘Twitter Files’: Twitter Had To Continually Respond To Trump’s & GOP Officials’ Demands For Taking Down Tweets

So, we already noted that Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee’s grandstanding hearing about Twitter revealed how Trump’s White House asked Twitter to remove a tweet from Chrissy…

@mmasnick Odd that the article does not say if the Republicans' requests were successful in getting tweets removed etc. Did they fulfill the Republican requests?

The IMF is forecasting the UK to have negative GDP this year. Meanwhile Russia which is under financial sanctions is expected to have positive GDP.

This could make a reasonable person question the wisdom of Brexit.

I have successfully avoided all coverage of, and all discourse about, the State of the Union. This is a good thing.

I was charged with PFO, even though I'd been exonerated of the first, and the conviction had been vacated. Prosecutors refused to drop the PFO charge, but the judge forbid them from introducing evidence in limine. That's how over-used it is.

Are ‘persistent felony offenders’ persistent in Kentucky?

YouTube

Part 1 of a 3 part series done by Independent Lens on Kentucky's draconian Persistent Felony Offender law. Not really touched on in the video is how the PFO 2nd degree, in some cases, becomes a "two strikes" law, putting people away for life with sentencing enhancements. Marcus is now Executive Director of ABLE, and in full disclosure, I'm on the steering committee.

@Seansmith @jimgon I often say that I'm a better man now, in spite of prison, rather than because of it. There is no rehabilitation or corrections going on there. The guards are the drug dealers. I told the warden once that, if I'd really understood the system, I'd have just gotten a job in corrections in order to sell drugs and avoid prosecution. Yes, it definitely needs overhauling, but it brings in far too much money to the state, here at least, in order for the government to consider that.
@jimgon @Seansmith I couldn't agree with you more. I work in criminal justice reform now. Also, I live in Kentucky where the Constitution still takes the voting rights of someone convicted of a felony in perpetuity.
