I'm a 40-something blind guy living in the Pacific Northwest of the US. I write, maintain, and advocate for free software. Utopian dreamer, vegetarian, and amateur philosopher / historian.
One of the best observations about LLMs that I've heard is: AI is a technology that is done to us, rather than for us. Really that's equally true of the surveillance panopticon and a lot of other stuff.
Revenge of the Poseur Nerds

According to CNN, the US and China agreed to "drastically roll back tariffs".
The Dow is up over 1000 points. I'm betting some insider trading fucks in Trump's circle are making money on it.
Oh and Tesla stock price is $316, proving yet again that traders are out of their ever-loving minds.
You can't spell homeowner without meow.

I have to wonder how many of the anti nuclear power campaigns from the 60s and 70s were backed by petrochemical interests to one degree or other. Yeah I see fission as a transitional technology, nothing more nothing less.

Did you know that the concept of the carbon footprint was invented by the advertising agency Ogilvy?

It was designed to shift responsibility for the impact of climate change from the petrochemical industry onto individual people in the minds of the general public.

Their client was BP.

It’s worked rather well, hasn’t it?

Tesla stock is obviously being pumped up. The Dow fell more than 300
points this morning and Tesla is up.
And this was after the news about his Tonka trucks being recalled.
