I'm a totally blind software tester with previous testing experience. I know there are many of you in the #Fedivers working on many cool projects, I'd love to test them for accessibility if you're looking for an accessibility tester or any accessibility consultancy please get in touch :-) if everyone could repost this, that would be great thanks very much :-) #a11y #Blind #Accessibility

Brock University is looking for our next University Librarian! Please consider sharing this job posting with potential candidates. This is a role that I work closely with on a range of issues, including of course support for open educational practices and course materials.

Hello friends and colleagues, my mom is trying to read a document from the West Indes, 1858, that is in Danish. Do I know anyone here who can help us read it?

Anyone remember a philosopher's quote that goes something like, "An object *has* its properties, but it *is* its aspects of becoming?"

Happy #OAWeek23 everyone! This year's theme of "Community Over Commercialization" resonates with us because we're driven by the values you'd expect from an open-access, open-source, and nonprofit scholarly network.

Second black bear was off the trail a bit, happily snuffling blueberry bushes and scratching its ears. Neither seemed to care a bit about all the people on the trail. I supposed they’re used to it (it’s a very busy trail). My partner and son saw three on the same trail a week ago.

Early October hike to Elfin Lakes, nearish to Squamish, BC, Canada. Such a gorgeous day.

And two black bear sightings. One quite close on the trail walking down as we were walking up. We and several others back up, pulled over to the side, gave it a wide berth, and it just walked a bit further and headed into the brush to continue its search for the last berries of the season.

Our son just got his learner's driving permit and I just put him on the insurance....and he just left out the door to go driving for the first time with his dad. (I'm not in the car b/c I think I'd be too stressed!) He's been waiting for this for awhile!

Important tech tip for Slack users not sold on the new "design"

If you hard-refresh Slack Command-Shift-R, and then type Command-Shift-S, you get an extra vertical sidebar that disaggregates your individual slacks.

Thanks to @snarkout who has improved my life for the better, this day.
