@chrisoffner3d they rarely do. The Great Digg Migration was possible because there was a viable option availabe: Reddit. There isn't one right now, not even the federated alternatives like Kbin -- they're not easy to navigate and the technology, while progressing, isn't quite there yet to ease the burden on less tech-savvy users.
