Ya know, it’s been hard. Keep on swimming. Find joy where you can.
@imyke @jsnell - “Is anything positive when described as technical?” simply ask Futurama …
@atpfm I take medication that makes my sweat have a very high acidity. On my old 16” PowerBook G4 laptop, lots of tiny holes got eaten into aluminum case where my wrists rested. But, I guess my fingertips aren’t sweaty enough as I’ve never lost the paint on my key caps. And I have much more ergonomic typing now and don’t rest my wrists.
@johnvoorhees The Home Automations seem to me to be an amazingly natural fit for an LLM capability. Explain in plain language what you want to have happen, and let the LLM turn that into a simple automation for you. A place Siri could feel really smart and compliments exactly how LLMs can handle code generation.
@johnvoorhees when this game came to the Mac in 2009 and iPad in 2011 is was built in Adobe Flash/Flex and I remembered thinking that the #1 game on the Mac App Store was Flash, Apple had lost the battle against Flash. I was wrong. Totally and utterly wrong.
@santi_garcia I’m love the productivity increase numbers! Individuals who perform below average at tasks experience a remarkable 43% increase in their productivity when they incorporate AI into their work processes. In contrast, those already performing above average see a respectable 17% boost. 🌟 This underscores a critical point: AI is not here to replace us; it's here to empower us.
@atpfm in terms of securing things on the iPhone, you can lock notes with a password that is separate than your device password and disable Face ID/touch ID to unlock notes. It’s a way to keep information secure on your device, even from someone who has pass code, and or biometric device access.
@SecretAntelope can you make them shout, “Klaxon! Klaxon!” - I could dig that.
@moviemorgz NextDoor is the premier app for reporting people seen in your neighborhood who don’t conform to your race, gender, or socioeconomic prejudices. “Saw this suspicious person…”
@koko I once interviewed a project manager who listed “vim” on their resume. I asked a simple vim regex question and they said, “Okay, really, all I know for vim is I can quite it by hitting escape-colon-q-!” - and like, that is a 100% pass to my question.
@siracusa @hotdogsladies - I wanted to thank you for talking openly both about J’s procedure and M’s history of UC. This stuff is difficult and embarrassing and I wish there were less stigma and more openness. I’m always thankful when people are able to talk openly about difficult healthcare - toes, buns, all of it.
