@esworp I would argue it DOES matter to a certain extent. Being able to communicate between instances assumes that all the instances are federated, but this is not necessarily the case. Not every single one is to connected to every single other one, so you could potentially be missing out on stuff.
I just invented the hashtage #Tootfluencer (TM) (R) (C). You're welcome.
@Jerry Join the club.
@tinker When you learn another language, you realize how much of an absolute pile of garbage English is lol. Seriously, French grammar is super complicated and there are tons of rules and it's very formal. English is like the language equivalent of the "We'll do it live!" Bill O'Reilly video.
@tinker Rather than creating a translator, everyone should just learn French as a personal improvement project. Don't be lazy, people!
(Says the person who already speaks French and therefore doesn't have to do work).
@browneyedgirl The hashtags have to be related to actual content that you discussing though and not merely (as people are currently doing) saying "I am interested in hashtag". Umm ok, that's nice, I guess.
@tinker I guess my point is that it would be easier if we all shared recommendations of really good people to follow, so that we could reduce duplication of effort.
It's entirely too difficult finding people to follow and the whole,
"scroll through this massive feed and randomly follow people based on one toot you liked"
isn't really sustainable. What's the solution?
Perhaps we need a Follow Friday type of thing?
