Wiring the 4G LTE/Wifi router is almost complete and everything works fine!
Heh, over on birbsite, been talking about antenna theory.
Now -there- is a black art.
For the record, receive antennas don't necessarily need optimization - it's not any big deal if they're cut too long, and, in fact, there's "long wire" designs that are -meant- to be as long as possible.
Transmitting antennas are where the voodoo shows up, though. Getting them to resonate -just so- is "fun"
I just published the 4h episode of the Pi Router project meant to create a cheap, small and secure 4G LTE/Wifi router.
I show you how to display stats of your 4G LTE/Wifi router. I also show you how to connect the screen. We will use the Adafruit python library to create a boot screen and display stats while the router is running.
Feel to leave your remarks, comments and advices!

@tinker I understand that's where the mindset comes from, and you'll always have those who will take advantage of a system, but I'd like to think that by and large people want to be productive and actually do more than leech off others.
Hardship can also be a trap you can never escape, especially financially. You can work harder and longer than everyone else and still be no better off. Luck has a lot to do with these things.
The same way I used to approach trolls back on certain web fora:
Use language they understand to introduce concepts that, as they agree to them, combine to subvert what they think they know.
Very gently build up a base of concepts that, eventually, leads them to realize they've been dreadfully mistaken this whole time.
Trick them into enlightenment.
So when a smallbiz IT guy gets the budget to "do an upgrade" and realizes that he can get one large box running server 2012 to be his domain controller AND run hyper-V to run these virtual machines all on the same hardware?
It looks like a great idea to save time, money, and rackspace.
