If you are looking for a podcast for Women's History Month to include in a newsletter, put on a top 10 list or even schedule a co-founder as a guest - Starting Line 1928 is an oral history project that documents the stories of the pioneers of women’s distance running. I'm one of the cofounders and I'm more than happy to share more info. You can find us here: startingline1928.com
Tweetdeck finally being broken might be what pushes me here.
Yesterday, I wore a made from scrap fabric turtleneck. And got a bunch of class prep done.
TLDR: Flight out of Cedar Rapids was canceled Friday, we rebooked for today. Morning flight was three hours delayed (boarding took forever). We ran across the airport for our flight to Lewiston. The door was shut, could see the plane - waited 15 mins but it left. Got a flight to Spokane tomorrow morning. So now the three year old has to delay Santa. Merry Christmas from Denver.

A bit self promotion heading into the new year. I wrote quite a bit about running this year. Here is the list of links:
- For the AEJMC Journal of Magazine Media, I wrote about Runner's World for the prompt "a magazine that made me": https://muse.jhu.edu/article/858297/pdf
- For Starting Line 1928, I had the honor to interview Jacqueline Hansen. If you want a history of women's running, this is an interview that will provide so much context: https://www.startingline1928.com/pioneerstories/jacqueline-hansen

Project MUSE - Runner’s World

Ended up at the in-laws in Iowa for a couple of extra days. Really enjoyed seeing Caitlin Clark hitting her 2,000 point. No wonder midwesterns are good at indoor sports, it is so cold in the winter. Hopefully, we will be on our way home tomorrow.

More of my writing about running this year:
- Also for Starting Line 1928, I interviewed Karen (Blair) Troianello. A standout 800-meter runner for WSU, she joined a group of women student-athletes and coaches in a lawsuit against WSU over inadequte support: https://www.startingline1928.com/pioneerstories/karen-blair-troianello
- Lastly, I wrote for Tracksmith about training for a marathon (with a 12 year gap) after a new ADHD diagnosis: https://www.tracksmith.com/journal/article/paying-attention-running-with-a-new-diagnosis

Karen (Blair) Troianello — Starting Line 1928

In 1979, standout 800-meter runner Karen (Blair) Troianello joined a group of women student-athletes and coaches in a lawsuit against Washington State University (WSU), suing over inadequate funding and support for women’s athletics under Washington’s Equal Rights Amendment.
