I'm reading a book on the history of Toronto's Spearhead leather club, which was published for their 35th anniversary. Folks here are having conversations about what a contemporary leather community would look like and what purpose it might serve. Spearhead still exists but has been rather quiet; and the fact that they're seen as very old guard and insular is in stark contrast to the drive for "open fraternity" that formed the group in 1970. I want to know how that shift happened...!
