Congratulations to California's new state slug and mascot of my graduate alma mater UC Santa Cruz, the glorious banana slug (Ariolimax columbianus) - seen here in hermaphroditic embrace. That's right, they are nonbinary and therefore a perfect mascot for California!
In an act of politically motivated vandalism, someone drew a line through my improvised sign. I turned it into an arrow, to symbolize (tada!) a new way forward.
Because we are never, never, never going back!
