Profile picture is Candlesnuff fungi (Xylaria hypoxylon). Photo taken by me a few years ago in another part of the world.

Moved to Pembrokeshire several years ago - and hardly ever go out of the county.

Background in IT but have now retired.

@newsmast It isn't coming - it is already here!

All too many sites are applying that approach already - and have been doing fo0r some considerable time.

@3TomatoesShort Lots of people on this forum: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk or (very much hyperthyroid) https://www.elaine-moore.com/

Welcome to ask anything.

@pmbryant Went to school with one of the Lupino descendants - known as Harry but not sure in that was his real name!
@haloandherb And be careful as it has interactions with many medicines and disorders including thyroid hormones/diseases.
@candlesnuff @luisfcorreia @jeffjarvis indeed and nurses dutifully record your weight and height in metric and then tell you it in imperial and so it goes on and on.

@luisfcorreia @jeffjarvis

A stone is 14 pounds (lbs) which is 6.35 kilograms.

@luisfcorreia @jeffjarvis due to not having the sense to complete metrification properly, the U.K. is a real hodge podge of measurements, a total mess. Kids educated in metric but gen X and earlier, and maybe later too, don’t know their height and weight in metric despite medics using it for years now, and of course road signs and speeds all in miles/mph.

@bobthomson70 @luisfcorreia @jeffjarvis

But motorway junction countdown markers are placed at hundred metre intervals - though talked about as if yards.

Tories look to bring back imperial measurement. Next, they'll think a return to shillings and farthings will resurrect lost glory....
