Bar Council warns move undermines legal profession and lawyers' responsibility to take on all legal cases

24 hours after the UN tells humanity that the IPCC report is a "survival guide for humanity", with an "urgency of taking more ambitious action", the story has disappeared from the BBC front page.

This is not a good public service, BBC.

Is it really a surprise that governments are not taking the action needed to eliminate fossil fuels?

Another 600 trees in the ground in Northamptonshire with amazing volunteers from Acer and Google.

At the end a dog walker stopped for a chat. They’ve got about three acres of unused land they’d like to plant nearby, so were gonna do it. 🙌🏻

This framing is not helpful, BBC.

What about "in move likely to contribute directly to substantial atmospheric heating".

Or "in move which will push the world further away from its climate goals"

In 2022, the Netherlands used 25% (10 billion m³) less fossil gas than the year before, and the lowest in 50 years!
Heavy industry -28% (substitution and production stops)
Households -25% (warm year, thermostats lower, insulation)
Electricity -12% (more wind, solar, and coal) https://www.nu.nl/economie/6250752/gasverbruik-in-nederland-op-laagste-punt-in-vijftig-jaar.html
