Bought an Autel MK900-BT for scanning cars and getting diagnostic data/reports off it without using their cloud storage is irritating.

Android based, so installed Tailscale and now I can just taildrop PDFs to my other devices. Brilliant.

Naturally was then part of a mass-migration when my train came up, only to find its declassified and standing room only.

No Lord Smalley class for me today 🥲

There’s something amazing watching 100+ people in Euston Station concourse suddenly move together towards a platform that’s just been posted. Obviously not pre-arranged but almost could be.

Brighton Ruby people!

I created a public Signal group for Brighton Ruby: https://signal.group/#CjQKIKRLFhN1KiMH69xrBX48Ue9mezPfrRU8E736MehrY6XQEhArb5TeYsXXvoqOaM6uwM7K

It's not affiliated with the conference, but assume the same rules.

Packed earlier for #BrightonRuby, was feeling smug to myself about being basically ready 18+ hours in advance of travelling.

Then remembered I'd bought a Brighton Ruby t-shirt and hadn't packed it. Now wondering what else I've forgotten.

Trying out Claude-assisted development is kinda funky, kinda irritating. Using jujutsu is neat though, just run `jj new` after every prompt generation finishes and it builds up a list of changes without needing commit messages. Then squash/split as needed.
Checked into a well known mid-budget hotel recently, was amused to hear them asking for feedback by stating, “if you have a good stay, we’d love to get your feedback”. Suspect they have a policy to ask for feedback, but the receptionist also employs a subtle suggestion to avoid bad feedback. 😂

17 years ago Ruby 1.8.7 was released https://www.ruby-lang.org/en/news/2008/05/31/ruby-1-8-7-has-been-released/

Feels like both yesterday and a lifetime ago 👻 1.8 compatible code still looks modern, although many changes since then of course.

Ruby 1.8.7 has been released

If the music industry could stop releasing 25th anniversary special editions of albums I enjoyed as a teenager, I'd appreciate it. 👨‍🦳

My old office used to get way too hot in the afternoon, and I'd routinely work a later day then.

My new office gets way too hot in the direct morning sunshine, and I'm starting to routinely start my day early enough to notice.

Maybe I need two offices 🤔
