After almost 15 years at Creative Commons, it's time to expand my horizons and look for new adventures. It has been an absolute honor to work with multiple CC teams, our global partners, and the open education community to identify complex problems where education is a critical part of the solution, and then open that knowledge to help solve the problem. I'll see you all soon.

We recently published a video titled Open Licensing for Research with Creative Commons. It explains how CC licenses work, why CC BY is the most open option, and how openly licensing your research with CC can strengthen the collective power of the scientific community.

Watch it here, and help us spread the word by sharing it with your network: https://youtu.be/_IBTfklg8q0?feature=shared.

Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: OE Café #9 Open by Design? Navigating GenAI, open licensing, and community trust. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.

Thank you for registering for the ninth Open Education Café co-organised by SPARC Europe, the European Network of Open Education Librarians (ENOEL), and the Network of Open Organizations on 17 September 2025 from 5 to 6 PM CEST. Generative AI (GenAI) is transforming how educational resources are created, shared, and remixed. As these tools become entrenched in educational practice, the global open education community faces a critical challenge: how to engage with their potential while safeguarding the rights of creators and the integrity of Open Educational Resources (OER). This session brings together representatives of the Network of Open Organizations and a Creative Commons legal expert to explore how open education practitioners can collectively navigate this evolving landscape. Join us and share your thoughts and experiences, we will explore the topic together!
