Sometimes old memories resurface and I get a little hit of nostalgia. In today's episode: I still miss AoE (ATA-over-Ethernet). It was pretty neat at the time. Nowadays I have Ceph RBD and iSCSI, but AoE still holds a place in my heart for being downright simple and compact.

Many, many moons ago, I was the developer on a storage product that implemented AoE. The project was ultimately scrapped, but I still have the memories.

When my Internet connection reconnects, I get a new IPv6 block of addresses. This works fine as I can update rad(8) and slaacd(8) picks up the new address on my devices. What's the best practice for updating an AAAA record for one of those addresses?
I love zfs snapshots. And zfs-auto-snapshot.

If I can’t be Batman, I can at least be helpful!

SSH slow to connect to a single specific host machine, and NFS mounts to that machine just timing out?

Yep, it was DNS.
