Ce n'est pas tous les jours qu'on a la chance de lire un livre aussi émouvant. Un livre qui résonne à ce point, je pense qu'il faut que je remonte à au moins 20-30 ans en arrière avec Le portrait de Dorian Gray ou La Peau de chagrin (dans des registres différents).
Vous n'imaginez pas à quel point ce livre va m'accompagner, pour quelqu'un comme moi qui a mis la Liberté sur un piédestal.

I'm #colorblind and I use https://xkcd.com/color/rgb/ frequently.

Randall 'xkcd' Monroe did a survey of over 100,000 readers where he showed them random rgb colors and said "what would you call this?" and afterwards he did his best to sort the results into the most popular color names and the colors they refer to.

It's like a box of Crayola for the internet. Finally, my colorblind self can grab a sample of "dark magenta" that doesn't just look like "grape purple" to everyone else.

The data is freely available as a .txt file under CC0, which I've converted into a .css file here: https://git.hatspace.net/nycki/nycki.net/src/branch/main/static/xkcd.css

so now when I want a color on my website I can just write `color: var(--xkcd-off-white)` or so on. it's really convenient :)

i've never seen a single commit diff representing more incalculable brand damage than this. entirely self-inflicted, 25+ years of goodwill like it's a gold ring at a pawn shop. even in their wildest dreams of avarice - as if being one of millions of scummy data middlemen were a remotely lucrative enterprise in 2025 - this trade will never be worth it.
shame on everyone who made and executed this decision.

To spell this out clearly, the reason RAM has quadrupled in price is that a huge quantity of RAM that hasn't been produced yet has been bought with money that doesn't exist to populate GPUs that also haven't been produced to go in datacenters that haven't been built powered by infrastructure that may never exist to meet a demand that doesn't exist at all to make profit margins that mathematically can't exist while economists talk about this thing they call the "rational markets hypothesis".
