I’m making oracle decks which tie in with my story’s world. For my first deck I used a set of dreamy, impressionistic AI art. Since then, I’ve absorbed more discourse around the ethics of AI and no longer feel comfortable using it.
@PaintCapsule Zack illustrated some art for me as a style/viability test. Making 60 unique images per deck isn’t viable. But 10 images cropped in on various details across multiple cards for visual variety is ☺️

My character, Steph, has often kept his childhood poetry secret and safe stacked within the hollow of a tree.
Marmot, Steph’s friend and the chaotic companion to the wood witch Marmalade, is sneaking in his own contribution to Steph’s hollow under the discerning gaze of Gail the black toad.

I love doing these little abstract doodles of the Faewood, the enchanted forest which grows at the heart of my story’s world.

I picture it being filled with crystalline ferns and coral-esque mushrooms in amongst the dense feathery foliage ☺️

I can’t believe how motivating it’s been to have a partner who enjoys illustrating my stories! Zack painted this for me a while ago based on a tiny, poem-sized story I wrote about a wood witch and a cheeky marmot.

I loved the art so much it inspired me to write more about them! (I’m writing a novel & more tiny tales ☺️)
