Mike Hoff@willoremus People who are talking out of their ass (Elon in this case) with broad terms and statements like "just rewrite it all" tend to get super defensive and offended when you ask for specifics.
They think they sound smart, but when challenged reveal surface level understanding at best.
Will Oremus@[email protected] if you mean the guy he hired as an intern to "fix search," who subsequently quit after not fixing search -- that guy (george hotz) was the host of the space, and booted the former twitter engineer for embarrassing musk by asking him basic questions.
On a Twitter Spaces last night, Elon Musk claimed that the entire Twitter codebase needs to be rewritten--the whole "crazy stack." A former Twitter engineer asked Musk to explain what he meant by that and... let's just say it did not go uphill from there.
