@cssbasics such a nice thing to have in css. I remember having to do silly hacks to try and account for the scrollbar width via JS… of course I had a jquery plugin for that … https://github.com/brandonaaron/jquery-getscrollbarwidth

I'm really enjoying using devcontainers to manage projects. Also really enjoy railway for hosting projects. I made a railway-cli feature to install the railway cli via the devcontainer config https://github.com/freshcodes/devcontainer-features

@rem I should note I’m having it use Claude 4 model
@rem the agent mode works alright sometimes. I just used it to track down specifics around how a vue code base was making all its api calls. And then had it verify some api related stuff on the associated rails app. Having it run curl commands and rails console commands to verify stuff itself. This kind of usage I’ve found to help me get oriented in new code bases quicker. I sometimes let it go through and do some coding but usually not entirely thrilled with the output.
Oh also using caprover which has been pretty great. I didn’t try any of the others yet like coolify or dokku and honestly might not because caprover is working well for me.
I recently setup a self hosted instance of gitea and I’m super impressed. I got a couple of action runners hooked up with it. Only had minor tweaks to a couple of GitHub action configs that I moved over. I also paired it up with a self hosted instance of the renovate bot for dependencies. Really good stuff.
@rem I’ve been happy with sourcegraph’s cody… now using the latest model from anthropic. It is still often wrong but it has been better than others at getting me some usable information for the insane typescript errors I’ve come across. I also like aider as a tool to refactor code from time to time.
@scottjehl Oh hey there. I was just passing by. Congratulations on the lawn darts win. 🎯 How is the chorizo?
@brianleroux what a throw back… access and classic asp with vbscript was the start of it all for me. I think macromedia had a really nice ide for that setup back then if I’m remembering right. I haven’t had the opportunity to use dynamodb yet. The pricing scares me though. Feels like I need a super deep dive to try and get things right out the gate. What are some good educational materials for someone who just always ends up picking Postgres?

still very early but if you like the idea of replacing handlebars/mustache/thymeleaf/etc with web standard superpowers pls join the enhance.dev discord and chime in!

all this work is Apache-2.0 fwiw
