I’ve written up a post about the background and plan for this server https://commonscomputer.com/t/tft-rocks-mastodon-server-move/13 * old https://toolsforthought.rocks Mastodon Server is 42EU/month, to be shutdown end of November * this https://toolsforthought.social is much cheaper, and Boris will run it for a year no matter what * follow Mastodon migration to move here, or to some other server * get involved if you want to run this server!

TFT Rocks Mastodon Server Move

Jess Martin recently got in touch to kick off monthly speaker series with Tools for Thought Rocks again. As part of that, we’re reviewing all the systems and tools we use. We’ve used Luma as our calendaring / event app for a while. Since we’ve been with them for some long, they ditched some things (their community / chat stuff), and simplified it to be calendars with shared admin access at the center. Jess managed to bring along all of our subscribers and past events, and our calendar is at h...

Friends! I am drafting a reading seminar proposal on "Human-Centered AI-Infused Systems: Conceptual Foundations and Design Patterns"

Goal is to engage deeply with theoretical and conceptual foundations and notable design examples and patterns for engaging with the question: "How might we design AI-infused systems that augment — rather than replace — human intelligence and work?"

The current draft is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11bhB-EVlZAOcPIMjJB07fiNIaZVzKZuy_7jZeI3h3-s/edit?usp=sharing

Feedback welcome! Is there anything major I am missing?

it's my duty to inform #obsidian folks that there is a way to set your preferred date format to ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD) in System Settings

I initially wrote #subsidian to observe the #obsidian graph view of a publication, to see the network of knowledge the author managed to create.

Subsidian is also useful for downloading a #substack archive for offline reading.

The Subconscious Beta is out now.

The client app going into beta is a single player MVP.

But underneath the Noosphere protocol syncs and links notes and files planetwide, talks IPFS, and is open source.

Blogging, round two, but for tools for thought. https://subconscious.substack.com/p/subconscious-beta

@roland @vanderwal and regardless of public/private, we’re missing multiplayer.

Looking forward to trying out Subconscious and the #Noosphere protocol later this year.

I’m hoping for some capabilities around backlinks / linking / aggregation of terms that we haven’t seen since the pre-spam Technorati years.

@allafarce I am so excited to share with you the classic Bill French quote:

"Email is where knowlege goes to die"

It made me go add it to my tool for thought so I could link to it: https://notes.bmannconsulting.com/#/page/64caf7f2-3f1d-4969-95f1-6f406d9033f6
