Talking about books: the "comic" variety, but also the other kind too I guess. I run the Not a Hoax! Not a Dream! podcast, about every cb character to ever get unalived and realived. Incurable ADHD (no, really).

A+, no notes.

The "internet of things" failed to deliver on it's most exciting promises mostly due to corporate resistance to interoperability. Alexa can't make a google calendar event, your light system is in a war with the system that controls the thermostat.

Every company aimed for market dominance, boxing out the others, and it has made everything harder to use, more buggy and worthless.

@unrealfred i actually think that has happened, it’s just the slop keeps happening at the same time. it doesn’t all improve, just the height of what’s possible improves
Today seems like a good day to for the Nth time share the only Bloom County strip I ever clipped out of a newspaper's Sunday comics section. It ran February 26, 1989, and oh, how I wish it didn't still seem so relevant all these years later.

The most notable part after that is the issue written by Harlan Ellison, where Batman goes an entire patrol without successfully finding a crime. He assumes the worst on a series of apparent crimes, only to find he should have given them the benefit of the doubt.

Decided to start reading the DC Finest Batman volumes last year. Went into the first one -- Red Skies -- with zero expectations, and I'll admit "pale dark haired woman in a tower observing the end of the world" hooked me. Doug Moench weaves a pretty cool gothic romance.

The red sky of course is due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths happening concurrently.

Happy New Year to you specifically
