The "internet of things" failed to deliver on it's most exciting promises mostly due to corporate resistance to interoperability. Alexa can't make a google calendar event, your light system is in a war with the system that controls the thermostat.
Every company aimed for market dominance, boxing out the others, and it has made everything harder to use, more buggy and worthless.
Which owl, I ask you, chose violence?
Which owl chose deception?
Decided to start reading the DC Finest Batman volumes last year. Went into the first one -- Red Skies -- with zero expectations, and I'll admit "pale dark haired woman in a tower observing the end of the world" hooked me. Doug Moench weaves a pretty cool gothic romance.
The red sky of course is due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths happening concurrently.
