I write and teach #writing. Especially to those who fear it. 10 #books of #poetry, a bunch of websites, and a decent track record of infuriating trolls. Dad, #poet, #ADHD poster model, etc. Enjoy #metaldetecting, #judo, #visualart, #videogames with proper stories, and #DnD. Based in St. John's, Newfoundland. http://linktr.ee/georgemurray

I haven't painted in about 25 years, but this year my daughter who is an artist gave me a set of watercolour pencils I thought I'd try out. Was fun to sketch in colour. I guess since I'm in a slump with writing, I can spare some time for painting and music. I'll never be a visual artist or proper songwriter, but practicing outside my comfort zone helps sharpen my lines, when they do come.
It's party season, for many. So, for those fellow spectrum folk who find parties stressful, I offer the following #poem (from the "New" section of my New and Selected Poems, PROBLEMATICA) inspired by my #ADHD and lifelong feeling of not fitting in wherever the frig I am that isn't home.
Some incredible work on display at The Rooms (our provincial gallery), including these Monkman's. They induce goosebumps. Might go back to spend some more time with them.

I grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons in the 80s (BEFORE it was cool, folks...) I received as a gift the Basic set in about 1980, then went on from there into many formative years of socially-crippling addiction. After discovering girls, rock, and booze, I left the game for about 25 years and came back when 5th Edition was released in 2014, mostly as a way to connect with my kids. Here's an article I wrote about it: https://thewalrus.ca/send-the-barbarian-in-first/

I teach people how to read and write #poetry, but I specialize in those people who learned to hate poetry in school, but are now wondering if they missed out on something. Take a look if you're interested. http://walkthelinepoetry.com

I thought I'd lost you, there, baby. Let's never spend time apart again.

Here's an older article on my second book of #aphorisms, called Quick, written by one of the world's leading experts in the field, James Geary.

Quick and my first book of aphorisms, Glimpse, are available for purchase in all the usual places.
