A software developer working on embedded cyber security mumble mumble. I also do some other stuff.
@warandpeas this is me with every niche side project I've ever programmed.
Full points to the survivors who do this because they feel that no one should have to suffer like they suffered. And full points to the (usually) guys bringing that Tim Walz "this is just wrong so I'm going to fight it" energy to this space.
@sarahjamielewis do you have a repo or notes up anywhere? I'd be really interested in reading about your approach.

A little goofing-off project for the break. Stage 1 complete -- the eyes track a joystick.

In a few days, stage 2 will have the eyes track a human being.

Calling this "xeyes" doesn't seem quite right since there's no X server, but I'm not sure what else to call it.

Guys, guys guys. I pitched a startup yesterday, and it went really, really well, and I'm still pumped.
@Mrfunkedude Always remember the saying "that which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence."

The Polish hackers who heroically fixed a series of NEWAG passenger trains that the manufacturer had artificially bricked with DRM are now being threatened with lawsuits from NEWAG. NEWAG has also filed a complaint with Polish authorities and has demanded the trains be removed from service.

Hackers fixed the trains *with permission from the trains' owner*

Repair expert told us this is "classic OEM bullshit," just on a train this time

Polish Hackers Repaired Trains the Manufacturer Artificially Bricked. Now The Train Company Is Threatening Them

After breaking trains simply because an independent repair shop had worked on them, NEWAG is now demanding that trains fixed by hackers be removed from service.

@FeralRobots @amberage @luckytran My son is helping me work on this house, and three times now, I've had to set down my tools, tell him to get out, collect a sample, and then leave until the tests came back. By the third time, I was so sick of it that I almost kept working.

But there's no rule that says the third type of tile has to be negative just because the first two are.

I want an electric truck that is medium sized and has:

* knobs instead of touch screens
* dials instead of software
* regular headlights
* power windows but also backup mechanical cranks
* a center console with a standard-sized slot for a radio or cb
* cup holders
* a tow hitch
* hooks in the bed for straps
* a spot for a spare tire under the bed
* hooks underneath the front and back bumpers for towing
* plugs for charging phones and running other devices

And make everything heavily tested, reliable, replaceable, and standardized. No one wants the future these guys are selling.
