thought balloons (and sometime hi-tech'ed poetry) of bernardo - anything goes… almost.
Guess I'm at a point in my life where my dad calls and he tells me the exact same stories he's told me 3 days ago? I don't mind. I just feel happy that he's still here to tell them. I just wonder what my siblings are telling him. Dad you're repeating yourself. So horrible.
Records, OOO, new format. Tapes, OOO, new format, CDs. Ooo, let's rip them into MP3. Ooo, now music with subscriptions. How many times do we have to pay for the same music? Well, for me, once, because I'm smart. But man.
I want to write a tribute to my friend. He passed away four days ago.
We were both outsiders in school and bonded because we would never be in the cool kids club.
In the 70's it was practically a crime to be different.
I was a poor Wailaki kid and he was a gay boy.
What we had in common was that we each had a friend that made us feel not alone.
We both left school before graduating. We grew up.
He bought his own hair salon and a fancy house and I found my own success.
He asked to be my date to the twentieth high-school reunion we crashed because we weren't invited. We didn't belong, but might of, if they hadn't chased us off.
We were dressed to the nines. He was wearing the biggest diamonds in the room.
Our classmates hadn't changed and were still unkind, but it didn't matter anymore.
We had fun and left those people in the rear view mirror after that.
We were friends for over fifty years.
He was a good person who will be missed.
He already is.
I just earned this special award for Global Close Your Rings Day. #CloseYourRings

I was once having pizza with about 10 other gay men. Some girls at the next table were being rowdy. An irritated mother shouted "Girls!" at them.
We all went silent and turned around, before realising they weren't talking to us!
@noam probably not so much, but maybe somewhat a trend? although in the back of my head i’m always imagining the ratio to be around 50-50 or 60 (coupled)-40 (singles)… anyway, it only “proves” to (more like “reminds”) me that i still remain single. haha. <perspiring> @Nates1984
@Nates1984 i believe you’ve once again proven that there’re fewer #fedisingle on the fediverse, i’m still surprised seeing the ratio though. the really tricky bit is that we #single actually want to see more of us here to begin with, then ultimately convert ourselves to be one on the other side!!… should you gather the 44 available candidates* here and see how it goes? (*assuming all 44 who have taken the poll want to be #coupled.) hehe.

How old am I?

I'm so old I remember when Google search provided more value than surveillance advertising.

I'm so old I remember when an operating system was not considered an advertising platform.

I'm so old I remember when "Artificial Intelligence" was a serious enquiry filled with brilliant people, and not a scam machine populated by sleazebags.

I'm so old I remember when "user" didn't mean "product".

I'm so old I remember when "corporation" didn't mean "person".

it’s like witnessing a “miracle” late but it’s still a miracle… i listen to #music a lot and i use #siri often enough, yet only just now i tried saying, #heysiri, put this #song on #repeat, and it worked! later i said, hey siri, stop repeating this song, and it worked again! …i’d waited this long to try this, i guess it’s because i always fear that siri would end up doing something else. hmm.
