Obsidian Sync now has a headless client, so you can sync vaults to a server without using the desktop app.

Try the open beta:

To challenge bad AI drivers, I have to ask questions to the slopster like "explain to me what you did wrong." I don't like being vague, but if I'm too specific they just ask their AI. Inability to critically analyze and formulate their own mistakes is an instant unvouch. 👋

Makes me feel like my own dad though. I used to hate being in trouble without knowing why I was in trouble and being told "think about it and come back to me when you figure it out." But, I understand him more and more every day.

I've been using #hledger from @simonmic for a few years, and it's been better than any other personal finance tool I've tried ☺️

The only thing I've been missing was various plots and charts, and I wasn't quite happy with any of the existing tools.

So I developed my own viewing UI for my HLedger journal; it's a read-only window on your finances showing a series of plots in a nice TUI - and it can also be hosted on a server!

Try it out! ✨

I love the feature to collapse Toots in @Tusky , it is sooo much more readable if very long posts are minimised/cut off by default
RSS never tracked you.
Email never throttled you.
Blogs never begged for dopamine.
The old web wasn’t perfect.
But it was yours.
The anti-Big-Tech movement isn't radical. It's common sense. Welcome to common sense.
the only thing I "miss" in #mise is LaTeX, but since I switch all my writings to #Typst that's not a big issue...
But anyways LaTeX would be awesome to have in a declarative way for each project

Reasons other than privacy to convince your family/close friends to start using #Signal

- Better compatibility between iPhone and Android. This worked for my aunt and was the primary reason we stopped using a text message group conversation. Now she can send us pictures and videos of her pets that aren't compressed into an MMS!

- Stickers! My mom has gotten into the habit of using the default Zozo the French Bulldog sticker pack as much as possible. It's very silly.

- No distracting advertisements. Occasionally the app will ask for a donation to the Signal nonprofit, but that's it! (I support them on a monthly basis.)

- PC client that syncs. This got my sibling convinced to make the switch since they prefer texting on a computer.

How my students taught me that Github’s monopoly is hurting the Open Source ecosystem even more than I thought.
