Looking for life outside my little worldβ€¦πŸŒŽπŸ“š
@mike805 @jeffjarvis The only thing that makes us better at work is work. But work is less than 1/3 of life. If school were anything like work there would be no need for school.

About 5 years ago my sister lost a book of poetry (William Blake), so recently she decided to replace it and ordered a second hand copy on eBay. It arrived today.

It's got her handwritten notes in it. It's hers.

Myles Cogrove, the ex-Louisville officer who shot Breonna Taylor in her home, was hired to be a police officer again in Carroll County in Kentucky. That makes me ill. https://www.wlky.com/article/hired-carroll-county-sheriff-kentucky-louisville-breonna-taylor-myles-cosgrove/43675237

Musk tried to trick people into believing that celebrities like @[email protected] and @[email protected] paid for Twitter Blue.

They did not and Musk got called out on it.

Musk has now copped to it and admitted he has paid for James, King and a handful of others to keep their blue checks

Isn't it time America hold Big Pharma accountable for its extortion?

Moderna is planning to charge $130 for its COVID vaccine, but the vaccine only costs $2.85 to make.

Meanwhile, over the last two years, the company made over $19 billion in profits off the vaccine.

Folks, this is what corporate greed looks like.

Largely missing from the gas stove discourse is the fact that induction cooktops heat faster, offer far more precise temperature control than gas or electric and chefs love them. And the government will give you up to $840 toward buying one plus up to $500 to cover the costs of installation and up to $4000 if you need to upgrade your electrical box to accommodate one.

I'm totally psyched to upgrade my old gas stove.

Where are the "Republicans in turmoil" "chaos" "disarray" headlines?

Yeah, I see coverage of McCarthy not able to get the speakership. But if this were the Democrats, the melodrama from the media would be something to behold.

When a normal person does not pay their bills they suffer serious consequences, they may: lose their home, be unable to get medical care, go hungry. But, when a rich, white, right-wing dude decides to not pay his bills it is an amazing business strategy to negotiate with his employees, vendors, etc. It is insane that we tolerate so much white collar theft, while vilifying legitimate struggles.

Elon went full QAnon and stopped paying his bills.

The New York Times sees a thrifty centrist.
