while carapaz was out destroying the others on a 2,000m climb, i popped down to the salt cathedral in zipaquira. the miners built it in their spare time and it’s huge. each station of the cross has its own chapel with a cavern stretching out behind it. the naves of the cathedral are on another level, underneath. it’s all very modernist. while i’ve no time for the church, i’m always impressed by their dedication. zipa’s lovely #travel #colombia
