With all the #gptchat and #chatbot talk, a former student posts this on #linkedin. So do I reach out and say, "this makes you look like you are lying, & that doesn't make you look like someone anyone would want to hire," as this tech didn't exist during his time as a student... or say "if this is true, then this is academic misconduct, and we might have to chat with university administrators." Option three is obviously to ignore the idiot, as we already knew he was an idiot. Thoughts?
An end of an era here on campus. The landline phone has gone the way of the mimeograph... replaced by a similar but more flexible technology. I've probably only received ten phone calls while I've been in my office since I started working at Oregon 6 years ago, so I have little concern about this changing my life. **except my kids can no longer come to my office and be "wowed" by my phone from the "olden days"
Enjoying the view of campus from my new corner office (in a 100-year-old building that was once a dormitory).
Also enjoying a cup of coffee from my #UGA mug (I'm definitely not in Georgia anymore)
