Law professor with a surfeit of hobbies. NOTE: Don't rely on any social media post for legal, fitness, or life advice.

Sometimes my spouse & I enjoy these conversation-starter cards intended for newer couples. Last night we drew "WHAT IS YOUR WILDEST FANTASY?"

I went first. Described an economic & political landscape where innovation might accelerate while increasing synergy between communities of interest & positive localism.

Then it was her turn. She looked at me, took a breath & theorized re: improving animal welfare policy, clarifying distinctions relative to liberation.

Glad to have found my person.

Came here to check out the post-debate Two Minutes Hate. Not disappointed. Once again going to be voting Lesser Evil and wondering what a transition to a more equitable party system might look like. Hope Trump is wrong about WWIII, but not confident.

Law review submission is one of those deals where "everyone" knows it's broken, but the power paradigm forces folks to play the game. Kind of like, y'know, most of law.

I honestly believe the revolution is coming, not because that situation is independently absurd but because generally MOOC and related models for online learning are going to experience an AI-facilitated renaissance. Law comes right after CompSci and accounting in ease of adaptation.. and resulting contraction in academia.

There's was a throwaway joke at the DNC that's been sticking with me. *Has* President Trump ever done his own grocery shopping? My vote doesn't turn on it, but it's such a powerful delineator of inherited vs. earned privilege.

Trying to figure out how to convince the rod and gun club to let me cut a hole in the basement ceiling.

It's the only indoor archery range for miles but my recurve setup is too tall.. everyone else is thinking about deer season but I'm thinking about my first Vegas Shoot in March...

Thinking about Mastodon's low adoption. A friend noted his perception about the potential risk associated with a host de-federating.

As I understand it, that would constitute difficulty connecting with the resulting diaspora akin to a popular email service going down- but could be mitigated through a little bit of governance and transparency (as noted in the "server picker documentation").

Are there other federation compacts?

Law review article submitted. Pretty sure I figured out how to reverse big ag consolidation, dismantle implicit bias in bank lending, and make interstate weed commerce legal. Wonder if anyone will ever read it. Gonna go hold my breath for a couple of weeks.
To my own great surprise, I just wrote a footnote arguing for an extension of the Trump v. US immunity holding. Idea is that there might be applications of that "core constitutional power" to other branches of government.

Not sure what I think about #SCOTUS #termlimits. I worry about revolving doors like we see with the #FCC and other administrative agencies. Are judges who are partly auditioning for #BigLaw / lobbying / academic gigs going to be less biased? Still trying to think it through.

Enforceable #ethics code, though, heck yeah. It's shameful enough that the judiciary in its entirety doesn't meaningfully self-regulate, the Court's "action" last year was just selfish.
