Ya know what? Outback Steakhouse wasn't that bad. It was okay.
For
#Virginia folks, Virginia ABC has certain Irish whiskey on sale 20% off through tomorrow. I saved on a few bottles.
After a bad experience there when they first opened we had avoided Sushi Jip. However we saw good reviews and returned last night. It was quite good!
#clarendonWe tried Wood & Iron last night, the new sports bar in Virginia Square at GMU. Service was good. I didn't care for the wings (too much hickory flavor) or the "pepperoni rolls" (too much cheese, not enough pepperoni) but the sliders with onion straws were great.
Virginia ABC in my neighborhood got in some allocated whiskeys (if that's your type of thing) - got the second to last Eagle Rare and a bottle of Buffalo Trace.
#clarendonI just had an amazing dinner at Willie Mae's NOLA - a cup of gumbo, quarter chicken dark, green beans, cornbread. The only missing was a Sazerac to wash it down.
Relaxing brunch trying new sandwiches at screwtop. The pimento cheese on the Hey Y'all is good but surprisingly spicy!
Continuing our tradition for Valentine's Day (if a day late) - Costco heart shaped ravioli. This time with sauteed onions, Costco Yangtze Chinese pork loin, and a miso garlic marinara sauce.
Breakfast at L'Auberage Provencale was maybe even better than dinner. Going to order some of the delicious meats that we had (ham and sausage) from bakerspork.com.
It's a "Virginia is for Lovers" wine...but it's a California cab sauvignon. Why?
