@ODR666 They couldn't win, even with the charitable ref! Must have left his yellow card at home...#IrelandRugby
@Gerz And yet politicians talk of BBC impartiality like it's a holy grail and still exists. There was a clear out/escape of journalists unafraid to ask tough questions of the Tories -Maitlis, McGovern, Walker, Sopal and Goodall... Those left in place are Tory sympathisers.
@Greenseer Keeping up the pretence that they don't approve the BBC's every move through their Tory donors/members in management. Hunt and Sunak are shameless. #bbc
@JugglingWithEggs I don't see Sharp or Davie resigning; it's not what Tories do, and the government has put its own in place to ensure right wing bias and to influence output, despite what Sunak and Hunt are saying today. Sharp 'paid' for his job and he won't want to lose it either.
The naked right-wing bias has been opened up to a wider public, which is good. If they try to silence Lineker, or expect him to apologise, I think he may walk.

@xenopolysplat He nails it without saying that for the Tories and the BBC, Lineker's real problem is that he's not right wing, and won't be controlled.
@mariarelaki They're pandering to the Tories, many lobbying for fossil fuels or accepting donations from them. The laziest and least talented ministers are given environment portfolios, and that's in a large pool of talentless and corrupt politicians.
@vruz Interesting that this person considers that Lineker's crossed a line, presumably having an opinion that they don't agree with, while they can freely say Lineker shouldn't be allowed to voice his opinion... the right-wing hate famous people having anti Tory views. Hugh Grant comes to mind too. #GaryLineker #censorship
@ClaireCopperman @stephenfry Yes I did. It was a great documentary, and about people I'd never heard of. Those people were so fearless. We need more documentaries like this.
We're watching as the BBC censor Gary Lineker for having an opinion about the cruel Tory policy on migrants.
Now the BBC censors David Attenborough's new series, refusing to air an episode about damage to the environment because it may be interpreted as critical of the Tories.
Meanwhile, their management is filled with Tory members, donors and former no.10 staff. The chairman helps to arrange a £800k loan for Johnson, and gets the top job.
Impartial? No.
Just a propaganda channel these days.
@Lizwebster Welcome Liz! It's ok on here, but I find myself spending time on twitter. No politicians, not many commentators or journalists here (yet).
