I talk about my reading experience with the Sony PRS-300, putting on custom firmware, the process of swapping the battery and sewing an envelope-style pouch. I'm also comparing it to two other 5 inch eReaders: the Pocketbook Mini from 2013 and the Xiaomi Mooan Inkpalm 5 from 2022.

@fluidlogic I use a Kobo Sage for Manga, getting koreader on it was mostly just drag and drop from what I remember. Never had any problems with it. Battery might not be as good as other Readers, but I personally don't mind that.
Second hand kindles are also an option since the winterbreak hack, be sure to check battery swap guides beforehand. Some of them can be impossible without breaking the screen. I recently put Koreader on some old Kindles and once it's running all is well.
