Coastal flâneuse at the mouth of the Fraser River (She/Her) Perpetually curious, always learning and observing. Often sharing thoughts on Vancouver, music, nature, culinary adventures, photography, art, geography, ecology, travel, and random silliness.
Vancouver as it looked today

This is Canada in winter. In January. Welcome to the Sunshine Coast! I took this at Smuggler Cove Provincial Park two weeks ago... one of my favourite places to go. #winter #canada #britishcolumbia
@eebeejay Surprise! 😂
@BryanLastRedDrop It’s a Western red cedar, an indigenous tree here on the lush west coast
@GPJohnston Oh yes, red cedars are sacred trees. I have one in my yard, it’s not old growth but it’s close, and it always enchants me. Also… a spruce-top guitar? Nice! I was testing out a spruce-top Martin guitar a few months ago at a local guitar shop. So, so beautiful - the look and the tone. You’ve inspired me to pull out my (not so fancy) guitar out of the dust this evening. 😊
@RobinWildlife It is! And it isn’t even the biggest tree in the park, either!
@GPJohnston Old growth sitka spruce's are my favourite! I've taken a keen interest in them ever since moving to the Sunshine Coast (a rainforest community on the coast just northwest of Vancouver BC). They're special trees.
One of the joys of Vancouver's Stanley Park is found within the forest steps away from the seawall and people. There I am at the bottom for scale (you may need to click on the image). #thicktrunktuesday #Vancouver
A post-Christmas meander to Britannia Shipyards in Steveston, a heritage boatyard site at the mouth of the Fraser River near Vancouver, BC, Canada #WindowFriday #FensterFreitag
#WindowFriday. Outside the cabin door in McCall, Idaho, USA, in the Idaho Central Mountains. My youngest daughter and I built this fella to stand guard, although I think he mostly just wants pancakes and honey.
