This is an important read about commitment and identity with respect to the work you do. Although not everyone will have underlying illnesses the fallout can be as severe.

Looking back at my academic career I see many parallels in the "costs" mentioned:

- sold my twenties to institutes/labs
- traveled too much
- gave too much of myself away (for free)
- strain on mental health

⬆️ Vous vous souvenez de ce début de projet en #crochet ? Depuis, j'ai eu le temps d'en faire deux !
Je voulais comparer deux types de laine (y'en a un qui a des couleurs plus saturées que l'autre, surtout au niveau du bleu) et j'ai aussi utilisé deux types de rembourrage différents.
L'occasion de découvrir que le rembourrage en "coton recyclé", c'est... nul pour des peluches... Celui rembourré au polyester est plusse rebondi et a l'air plusse heureux, moins raplapla.

Yesterday Cory Doctorow argued that refusal to use LLMs was mere "neoliberal purity culture". I think his argument is a strawman, doesn't align with his own actions and delegitimizes important political actions we need to make in order to build a better cyberphysical world.
