A bombshell investigation by Le Monde has revealed the “black year” of the International Criminal Court (ICC), as the court faced unprecedented external threats in 2024.

According to the report, the ICC endured threats, sanctions, and intelligence interference, largely led by the United States and Israel.

These efforts, Le Monde said, were designed to derail any accountability efforts for Israeli war crimes in Palestine.

Le Monde Uncovers “Black Year” for ICC Amid Pressure to Protect Israeli Officials from War Crimes Charges

The Hague (Quds News Network)- A bombshell investigation by Le Monde has revealed the “black year” of the International Criminal Court (ICC), as the court faced unprecedented external threats in 2024.

Ghassan Abu Sitta (X): "The Blood Bank in Gaza is unable to accept blood donations. The donors are too malnourished from the famine, too dehydrated from the diarrhea disease they got from drinking dirty water, and many have Hepatitis viral infections.”
24 April late at night the wall of the main building of ForFarmers showed the reality instead of the company’s greenwashing: their business adds to nature destruction, climate disaster and farmers exploitation. For the fourth time, @xrlandbouw and we demand ForFarmers to stop this.

This week we held a climate crisis reading marathon at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Readers were invited to publicly read texts related to the climate crisis. The climate crisis impacts all of us, hence we need to bring the science outside of the lecture hall, into the world!

We demand that education on climate justice topics is integrated into study programmes so that students are aware of the challenges in their full complexity. We must address these challenges in the coming years.

At a time where science is more important than ever to deal with the planetary crises, our government heavily cuts higher education budgets. Science is foundational to progress and well-being, enabling societies to address challenges.

Strikes are organised by student and university staff unions to protest against higher education budget cuts. Today, SR joined it in solidarity in Amsterdam at the VU. Our demands: keep education available to all, invest in science & innovation, not in war!

Today we again joined Extinction Rebellion NL in blocking the A12 in the Hague to demand that the Dutch government stops subsidizing the fossil fuel industry. These subsidies exceed 40 billion euros annually. Fossil fuel companies are supposed to use them to decarbonize their activity, but instead they keep investing in new extractive, ecocidal fossil projects.

The Minister did not take any of our scientific, economic, or juridical arguments into account during the debate. And the concerns of the opposition and those of the citizens from Warffum that traveled to the Hague to voice them were also ignored.

More local and disruptive action is needed!

Everything is terrible, but LOOK BABY GOATS!!

🧪🥀Pesticides threaten human, animal and plant health at many levels. Almost all pesticides on the Dutch market have obtained a seal of approval by the CTGB, housed in Ede, the agency regulating "plant protection" products in the country. But that seal does not provide protection against pesticide toxicity. On 28 March Scientist Rebellion took part in a protest demo against CTGB's shortcomings, organized by XR Gifvrij and supported by many other groups, including SR.
On the 389th Dies Natalis of @utrechtuniversity , Scientist Rebellion gathered in front of the iconic Domkerk to urge the university to honour its commitment to sever ties with the fossil fuel industry. Ironically, this year's theme was "a healthy planet." If Utrecht University truly intends to uphold this message, it must reevaluate its research partnerships. Collaborating with companies that contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation contradicts that commitment.
