3) the episodes i thought were the original are the second series
4) there was a movie

As I sit here babysitting an upgrade into the wee hours, I have had time to ponder a melon scratcher.

Frequently (but not always), the ball on my trackball will stop responding, though the scroll ring and buttons will still work. Unplugging and plugging it fixes it, and i used that as an excuse to get a USB hub that be switched between two devices. The OS is win11 because it's for work. Almost seems normal to this point.

The weird stuff
- it only happens at home, despite having a different instance of the same trackball model at work
- it doesn't matter if it's plugged into the laptop, a dock, or the previously mentioned usb hub
- it seems to only happen if i leave it on the workspace where i have Windows App (a shit-tacular wrapper around RDP as far as i can tell)
- it only takes a minute or two to happen, and doesn't always happen. Not even long enough for the screen to blank or lock or anything

The good stuff
- it doesn't stop me from slurping my coffee after midnight
