I'm going to miss Spirit Airlines. I never flew them very often, but they were the cheapest option one time and I love, love, loved the experience.
No frills. No bon bons. The seats were uncomfortable -- same as every other airline these days. They tried to sell me on a credit card three times. I put my earphones in and ignored them.
The plane went up, the plane went down. When I exited I was at my destination. You could not ask for less and I didn't.
All airlines should have this option. I don't want your fuckin' hot towels or your $8 cans of soda. Just get me to my fuckin' destination, please and thank you.
Spirit did that and they didn't pretend it was some bougie prestige experience. I got on the plane, I ignored the ads, I got off the plane. It was fast, safe, and cheap.
More Spirit Airlineses, please.

Modern tech jobs are losing the thread.
I don't want to actualize new paradigms. I'm not interested in shifting the conversation.
Customers aren't looking to pay somebody to shift conversations for them, and neither am I.
I like tech. I love tech. And I have more to contribute to the community than just verbing the noun in some kind of goofy LinkedIn-coded way.
Leave the hyperdynamic, goalpost-shifting, gamechanging hyperbole at the door. Some of us are trying to get real work done.
Once again, my professional recommendation in response to the latest Linux kernel vulnerability in the news is that you should gather up all your electronic devices, cast them into the sea, and retreat to the woods.
Each night, gather your children and tell them tales of the Before Times when the hubris of humanity grew so large that we made idols of sand and spoke to them as equals. Remind them that the sand, of course, did not speak or think, but we imagined it could, and let it guide us to folly.
Should a stranger ever come to your village with a glowing rectangle, encourage the youth to beat them with sticks.
