I've got a new #article out!!

"Measuring Geographic Access to #Transgender Hormone Therapy in Texas: A 3-Step Floating Catchment Area Analysis" in #spatial #spatiotemporal #epidemiology journal

Major takeaways:
- #trans care access does not neatly follow patterns of access for primary care
- service planning could tackle overlapping care deserts for primary and #genderaffirmingcare
- spatial methods WILDLY underutilized in trans research

Please consider taking this #survey on geographic access to gender-affirming care!

If you
-have ever access gender-affirming hormones or surgeries
-live in the USA
-are 18+
then we (myself, Dr Gamarel & Dr Haimson ) would love to hear from you!

Geographic Access to Gender-Affirming Care in the US

This survey seeks to understand how far transgender adults travel to access gender-affirming healthcare. It also seeks to discern where transgender people source information about healthcare facilities and providers who offer trans-friendly or trans-specific services.

Delighted to share I’ll be joining the department of #Geography at the University of British Columbia as a #tenuretrack #assistantprofessor of #GIS #cartography and transformation in July! I couldn’t be more thrilled to make #Vancouver #BC my new home with my fiancé and our two fur babies 🙏🏻😇💅🏻

My new department has shared a write up about my work below:
