A song to sing around the #Thanksgiving table (to the tune of "My Country 'Tis of Thee")
I've been seeing lots of #CharlieKirk quotes posted on social media, but often without a lot of context, so I created this document that provides longer excerpts and as much contextual detail as would fit on the page.
I produce my webcomic, @Trumpbert, not by drawing my own art or having an artist draw each new strip, but by reusing a set of characters I commissioned from freelance illustrator Mahnaz Yazdani, mixing and matching and repositioning them as required. I've gotten along for quite a while with the same basic set of images, but recently decided I needed to add some new characters to my cast. Here are the strips from this week introducing two new characters that Mahnaz created for me.

Just received my author copies of the paperback edition of BRIDGE ACROSS THE SKY.

The sale actually happened two years ago, and it's finally been officially announced. I'm really excited about the degree to which this picture book is going to integrate Science and Story, Fact and Feeling, for readers young and old.
The #NoKings event at the Capitol building in St. Paul today, held in the shadow of this morning's shootings. There was a huge turnout despite the news and the weather, though the MN officeholders who were originally going to speak stayed home at the urging of the police, and the event ended a little earlier than scheduled.
Had a great time the week before last talking about my Angel Island novel on a panel of historical fiction writers presenting at the Association of Writers & Writing Programs Conference. I also managed to book an appearance at a nearby high school to talk about the novel and the history it's based on.
