Democrat Chedrick Greene won a special election (by-election) for Michigan State Senate District 35. With this win, Democrats retain control of the state senate.
Kamala Harris won this district by under 1% in 2024. Greene won it by 19.5% on Tuesday.
This overperformance has been typical for Dems lately. It bodes well for Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections.
