@seawall I have had two Larry vs. Harry cargo bikes. Has max. weight of 180kg. I ride regularly with ¾ max and have gone over max a few times. Other than the feel of the extra mass, it handles and brakes well at capacity. Highly recommend.

@grivettcarnac I’d keep both if you are concerned about ice. If the back one slides out under power, you are likely going to be dabbing a foot on ice and probably going to drop it still. Best to just avoid it. Another week or two on asphalt won’t cause wear to the studs that you will notice in the long run.

You should be able to look up the tire and see what the studs are made of. Usually tungsten carbide, which is harder than almost anything in the road surface.

@grivettcarnac studs are flat on the interior that face the tube. Even if they roll somewhat from side-load while turning or hard braking it will be a disc that is protected by the rest of rubber in the tire. I rode studs for years on asphalt and it never had any effect on the tubes.
