The little criminal mastermind has been hospitalized for two nights with severe anemia. :( We’re hoping he can come home today. It’s looking like it’s immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, so he will be taking immunosuppressants now just like I do.

@simonzerafa @GossiTheDog That sounds like a much less stressful way to do it. The reimbursement model of pet insurance unfortunately seems to be standard in the US.
@simonzerafa @GossiTheDog Pet insurance is 1000% worth it. We are getting a used-car price kind of vet bill for our cat today (he’s been very sick), but we’re getting about 90% of it reimbursed. It’s taken the treatment from unrealistic to an inconvenient but manageable expense. (The downside is you still have to be able to pay the up front costs and afford to wait for reimbursement.)
