So, #longtermism is clearly bullshit, for all sorts of reasons. The first thing that made me suspicious was that longtermers talk about wanting to get to this amazing(ly stupid) Sci fi future, but never talk about the exponential benefits of improving society *now*. If my goal was to get to a Sci fi future, and I had a billion Euros, I'd be investing in all kinds of ways to improve and expand education around the world, and get marginalised groups into education and the workforce, etc.

@chowderman all of the above+I do honestly think that many 'leftists' in the West are disillusioned what #communism was and that #Stalin & #Lenin were dictators who killed millions of people. The idea of #communism is noble,but ultimately it will never succeed because of human nature.
