Between work, the kids, sickness, and school, my Etsy shop has taken a big backseat this season. But this past week: The stars aligned at the right time (when I desperately needed to fill my bucket by creating something!)…I got to design & make two wreaths for our local CASA winter fundraiser and create some baby shower decor for a sweet friend’s soon-to-arrive nephew. Bucket is re-filled. (If only making this would get rid of this cough…) #maker #etsy #selfcare
Ugggg. I’ve been off of here, mostly bc I’ve been fighting an awful upper respiratory thing since Thanksgiving. 😫 So, life has been kind of bare minimum stuff. One more week of grad school for this semester, two more papers, and two more weeks of work. 💯 How are y’all?

Wrapping up a morning/lunch/early afternoon shopping date with the 9yo & my mom. Today was all about 9. He’s changing schools after Thanksgiving break (private > public), so some new shoes, a few new pairs of jeans, and Shake Shack with his mom and Mimi were needed. ❤️
Jess CalarcoIt took me four tries to record a class lecture on (among other things) the second shift done by women.
Because I don't have after-school childcare, and my kids kept interrupting to complain that they were bored, ask for snacks, or tell me that they couldn't work the TV.
I'm pretty sure you can still hear them arguing with each other in the background audio of the final version. But I'm too tired to try to record it again.
Driving around 465 N in Indy and husband and I look at each other and go, “It’s amazing you can get all the way around the north side in 12 minutes. The north side of Chicago would be an hour and a half!” 😂 #HoosierMast
- The way I fill my bucket: I’m a maker. I paint, create stationary, and fun stuff in the very little time I have left over.
- I am super loyal. My circle tends to be narrow, but deep.
- I was born & raised in #Indiana, but now live outside of Chicago. (Like way outside.)

I’m still very much trying to get the feel of things here, so while I do that, a few things about me:
- I’m a mom. I don’t (think) I overshare, but I will tell stories. The kids are 13 & 9, which can be fun ages.
- I’m a communicator. I’ve been at this for 20+ years and this year, I decided to get my master’s in comms. So, I’ll occasionally give a glimpse into what it’s like to be a 43yo mom, who works F/T, who added school onto the plate. 💙
- I am a huge #iubb fan. #HoosierMast
