@judell @alcinnz Not sure, most of what's out there for Mastodon-like services is pretty heavyweight. Pleroma (or Akkoma) is lighter but I don't know what administration is like. GoToSocial is extremely minimal and could work for a small server, I don't know if it implements the Mastodon API though.

@alcinnz For a few months now I've been working on Tapir, a new single-user Fediverse platform: https://tapir.social

The roadmap has changed some from what's on GitHub, but the current plan is to make it a cross between a single-user Mastodon-like instance and a CMS. Multiple profiles, blogs, media galleries, static pages, and so on.

It's been in limbo for a while because it's *really hard* to get the architecture right for supporting all of the protocols and usecases I have planned.

@ekaitz_zarraga I just started using it too--ironically, the first thing I wrote in it was a wrapper for S7 Scheme. Planning to rewrite a recent game engine project in Zig with S7 for scripting.

I really like the design of Zig, but the lack of documentation is a huge pain. That and the fact that `zls` doesn't do much typechecking.

I've sampled many breakfast teas and Yorkshire Gold remains undefeated

@joelmartinez It's on my roadmap for #Tapir (https://tapir.social).

Eventually.

Attention! The word "noobs" has officially been used in an opinion of the Delaware Court of Chancery:
Fosstodon didn't participate in the NDA conversation and is planning to "wait and see" about federation with Meta, which seems like a good policy. Though I do worry if they'll still be defederated by some of the more intensely anti-Meta instances because they'll federate with Meta at first.

With the upcoming #Meta situation, it looks like there's going to be a split in the #Fediverse, and a lot of small instances will defederate from larger instances like mastodon.(social|online) because they're federating with Meta.

Maybe I should move instances before that happens, so I don't lose half my social graph. I was planning to self-host anyway, but Tapir isn't ready and won't be for a while.

I've thought about moving to #fosstodon, I have a lot of mutuals there and I like its culture.

there is a right way to use the fediverse and it is to treat it like one big nonsense word game that most people aren't that into
